Dead Blow Mallet
I have been working on a set of entirely 3D printed hand tools to build my CAD skills. The hammer head is mostly hollow. Print it with the lowest amount of supports as possible, (5% or less). Once it is printed use a coat hanger or bent nail to break out as many of the internal supports as possible. fill the head with sand, BBs or lead shot. If you print the mallet at full size you can use a 3/8ths bolt to plug the fill-hole, you can also use hotglue. This print was designed for my large format printer, you may need to scale it down for yours. The origenal inventor files, as well as the STLs are attached. Feel free to use or modify the designs. These designs are in the public domain. This hosted file keeps creator credit and license details.
