Carcassonne Tile Grids
Carcassone is a tile-laying game. The 'game board' grows as the tiles are laid, in whatever direction the tiles fit. In our games there has been a continuing problem in keeping the tiles straight, and it can become a major operation if the 'board' has to be shifted if it nears a table edge. The Tile Grids each hold nine tiles in perfect alignment, and the grids snap together with small dovetail joints to grow the board in any direction as necessary. There are small raised ridges between each tile, but this doesn't detract from the game. A small game can be held by about ten grids, but a large one with many expansions could take 20 or more grids. Clip Stand (Customizable)
Very simple adjustable stand for tablets, smartphones, e-readers, clipboards, or similar flat rectangular objects. Just slide the clip up or down to adjust the angle of the screen. Can also be used as a handle, or hand strap. Create the stand by adjusting the parameters in the customizer. The length of the clip should be significantly shorter than the length of the device so it can grip the sides securely. The amount to reduce will depend on the type of plastic, and the dimensions of the clip. PLA will give a stronger grip for the same design but it tends to weaken over time. The Joyful Yell
Sometimes you're just super happy... Simple sculpt at relatively low, medium and high poly counts. File will need support material, but has been rather successfully test printed at smaller size on a Replicator 2. Should work great on a resin/SLA printer. Sculpted in Zbrush, preview renders in Blender, final check and stl file saved from Netfabb. Tiny Planetary Gears Set
A small planetary gears system with a ratio of 4:1 per stage, as many stages as wanted, small, open enclosure to see the gears, and hardware free. The gears are designed with a circular pitch of 2.5mm and they are also slightly beveled at the tips of the teeth to avoid the need of cleaning the excess of material from the firsts layers. The OpenSCAD is not parametric, there's only parameters for clearance (set to 0.2), backslash (set to 0.1), pressure angle (set to 22.5), tolerances between nuts and bolts (set to 0.4) and length of the bolts, sometimes referred as rods. Air Spinner
Update 2018-04-21: Added two additional versions I had no idea what this was for when I uploaded it. I didn't think it would be useful for anything other than as a 3D print demo, I just made it to satisfy my curiosity. But if you check out comments below, guttyr discovered you can spin it up by blowing on it, and it can be used by speech therapists to help special needs kids get better at breath support and control. Different parts of the spinner will spin depending where you blow on it, I'm still figuring which locations and angles work best.
